” The critical oil and natural gas producing region that we fought so many wars to try and protect our economy from the adverse impact of losing that supply or having it available only at very high prices “

I rant on this blog frequently about our national foreign policy concerning energy security. It’s the centerpiece. Going to war to liberate foreign countries from ruthless dictators or retaliate against acts of terrorism sells much better though. Still nice to see a talking head make reference to what we are really up to.

  1. That was amazingly honest. Bolton may be our next Secretary of State.

personally, I don’t know why politicians think they have to lie to Americans about the real reasons for our wars. I don’t like war but if we are going to war anyway, I and I think most Americans would prefer to know the truth. Fighting for access to oil is very much a in our national interest; at least it use to be. The US could, with the proper incentives, ween itself from Mid.East oil.

Well, they do say that all war is deception so why not the reasons for it as well?
