Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) got into a heated exchange with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) concerning the assault weapons ban. Cruz obviously hit a sore spot when he outlined the constitutionality of the bill. Feinstein told Cruz to not lecture her on the Constitution. She clearly needs another lecture on her oath of office to uphold it.

She stated that Congress is in the business of making law and it’s up to the courts to uphold them. No, Sen. Feinstein, you are not correct. Congress is not in the business of passing any law it feels it can because it has the power to do so and then wait until later to see if it sticks. In other words you ignoramus, Congress has to abide by the law when it makes law!

Sen. Feinstein, just because you’ve been there a “long time” doesn’t diminish your burden to ALWAYS uphold the Constitution and the Bill of Rights when enacting law for the United States. I’ll bet there are more than a few 6th graders that know this better than you.
