Gasp! Could it really be true that our President lied to us about Obamacare?

I just have to weigh in on this silliness blanketing the airwaves concerning President Obama and whether or not he knew Americans would lose their private health insurance plan or doctor. Here is a link to an example of the rhetoric. Once again, it is the American people stuck in the middle of political maneuvering for the 2014/2016 elections rather than a debate of substance.

Those on the right are debating whether he simply wasn’t told what was in the bill or did he flat out lie. Those on the left are mincing words to say he was technically correct in that Obamacare doesn’t force private health insurance providers to cancel policies, rather that they are choosing to of their own volition.

Now the answer is easy. Yes, he’s lying. He has long been a proponent of single-payer and government run healthcare. If you’re not convinced, simply watch this video loaded with him saying it in his own words.

President Obama isn’t the bumbling idiot that some on the right would like to paint him as who just didn’t know what was in the bill. Nor is he the Delegator-in-Chief others propose who tells his minions to simply get it done without telling him details so that he has plausible deniability always at hand. When he was indoctrinated in his youth and became a proponent of big government, he learned then that it would be a stepped process to get to single payer.

It’s just the standard M.O. of liberals when attempting to impose another government program on the American people. They can’t spell out the true details or it won’t sell. We have to “pass it to find out what’s in it”.

No way could Obama have been up front to say that White House estimates of 14 million (some say 19 million,or is it 93 million?)people losing their private health insurance plan due to the requirements of Obamacare. The talking heads all have their talking points to downplay it as miniscule, maybe 5% of the population, but 14 million people is a very loud voice. If only they would have paid attention ahead of time.

So now we’ll hear many say that they simply can’t say for sure that Obama knew ahead of time. Really? Only if you’re a flat-earther. I’ve never made a trip around the planet to verify that it is a globe but I feel pretty comfortable in saying that it really is.

Could this Friday be one of the reasons the DHS has been stockpiling ammo?

Many have asked the DHS why they seem to be stockpiling ammo and many more have speculated as to why. Most either get no answer or get an unsatisfactory one. Senator Tom Coburn(R-OK) wrote a letter last year and asked and he got a response he posted here –

It isn’t just the amount of ammo, it’s the type as well as items such as armored personnel carriers. As this Forbes article pointed out, it’s enough ammo to fight the Iraq War over 20 times here on the streets of America.

Is it all just for training? Does the DHS foresee extended periods of extreme civil unrest coming in the future? We may get our first test starting this Friday, November 1st. That’s when the SNAP stimulus funding expires. From

Food stamp recipients face a massive benefit cut set to kick in when stimulus funds expire Friday. The nationwide cut “is equivalent to about 16 meals a month for a family of three,” according to a Center on Budget and Policy Priorities analysis using the USDA’s “Thrifty Food Plan.” CBPP called the roughly $5 billion annual cut to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program “unprecedented” in “depth and breadth.”

“If you look across the world, riots always begin typically the same way: when people cannot afford to eat food,” Margarette Purvis, the president and CEO of the Food Bank for New York City, told Salon Monday. Purvis said that the looming cut would mean about 76 million meals “that will no longer be on the plates of the poorest families” in NYC alone – a figure that outstrips the total number of meals distributed each year by the Food Bank for New York City, the largest food bank in the country. “There will be an immediate impact,” she said.

Now, Purvis may be right on the riots but then she gets confused Nancy Pelosi style when she says this.

Purvis added that cutting food stamps was “not even good business sense,” because each dollar of food stamps infuses over $1.70 of spending into the economy.

Once again the liberal lunacy kicks in. If we can truly get a multiplier of 1.7 by redistributing tax revenue toward welfare programs, then why aren’t we allocating all of our discretionary budget monies toward them? Screw the debt limit, tell Bernanke to crank up the money printers and let’s turn trillions into quadrillions with the best economy ever!

Boy, it isn’t just the economic benefit, look at all the lives it would save by preventing the DHS from mercilessly mowing down Americans in the streets rioting due to their food stamp cuts.

FOX News reports a former Guantanamo Bay detainee was in Benghazi – Spellchek had the story nearly a year ago

FOX News is reporting that a former Guantanamo Bay detainee was on the ground in Benghazi during the attack timeframe.

A former Guantanamo Bay detainee with Al Qaeda ties was in Benghazi the night of the Sept. 11 attack, according to a source on the ground in Libya.

The source told Fox News that ex-detainee Sufian bin Qumu, who is suspected of running camps in eastern Libya where some of the assailants trained, is also a “respected member” of Ansar al-Sharia — one of the Islamist groups identified in State Department email traffic two hours after the attack.

Two sources familiar with the investigation, when asked about bin Qumu’s whereabouts the night of the attack, did not dispute the claim he was in Benghazi.

Of course, if you’re a regular reader of Spellchek, you knew about this nearly a year ago –

Here’s an excerpt.

It would appear that Qumu had a significant intelligence value and that he may have been released in an effort to track Al-Qaeda activities as well as to help overthrow Gaddafi. Instead, it was Qumu who lived to see Gaddafi dead as well as extracting revenge against America in the form of Benghazi. The focus on the congressional hearings this week will be on the cover-up of Benghazi during and after the attack. We need to be examining why an enemy combatant of high intelligence value considered to be a high risk to American interests was ever released. The Obama Administration has plenty of questions to answer about how it handled the attack and covered it up. More importantly, we need to get to the bottom of why Qumu was released and what was the CIA involvement in supplying weapons to Syria via Turkey. Was Qumu employed as a double agent by the CIA to overthrow Gaddafi? David Petraeus would know.

That appears to be the likely scenario for the whole cover-up affair. Not only did we have an Ambassador conducting a covert operation to supply Libyan arms and fighters to Syria with CIA support, he himself was killed by an Al-Qaeda double agent working for the CIA at one point. Very messy business. Also one that would have had involvement from top brass in the Pentagon, the State Dept., the CIA as well as the White House. The Petraeus exit may just be the tip of the iceberg in the lengths that the Obama Administration will go to keep the lid on this.

Of course, this latest FOX report doesn’t nail down anything, only to further solidify that Obama and the CIA were up to their ears in Benghazi from the weapons and Jihadist transfers to the cover-up on-going to this day.

The Obamacare trap

As most of America has learned by now, Obamacare is a disaster. No surprise to those of us who paid attention years ago when all of the predictions of its shortcomings were exposed and are now coming to fruition.

But where are you now? Have you realized that defunding Obamacare will never happen? Maybe you held out a glimmer of hope when Ted Cruz filibustered that it would catch fire and others would be emboldened to stand together on principle no matter what the cost? Sorry to say even Cruz wouldn’t go all in at any cost because he has aspirations of a 2016 run.

So now the default position of Obamacare opponents is that maybe it will collapse under its own weight as Paul Ryan promoted previously. People are hopeful given the high profile rollout glitches that maybe enough other people will jump in and create a nationwide cry for repealing it.

Is this you? Are you left with pushing for a one year delay of the individual mandate as the best we can hope for? Maybe then enough people will see it for what it really is and reject it.

Stop. Just stop. Don’t fall into the Obamacare trap. The trap of buying into this notion that these glitches and delays will derail it. Have we learned nothing throughout history of how government programs work? Are we so naïve as to think Obama is in any way surprised by the rollout? Did we not hear him as a Senator when he openly called for a single payer system and his acknowledgement that bringing down the private healthcare system is a process?

How exactly does Obamacare collapse under its own weight? Remember, it’s the law of the land. The only way it collapses is by an Act of Congress. The law must be changed. Who believes that will happen?

Rather, what we’re seeing is ordo ab chao. The Latin phrase meaning ‘order out of chaos’. The glitches and further disasters we haven’t even been exposed to yet are all pre-planned. Now, it may seem counter-intuitive to some that Obama would want his signature piece of legislation to look bad or, worse yet, fail. But you need to consider what will happen when the crescendo of cries from outraged Americans reaches a fever pitch. Will America do as those on the right hope for and call for a return to the way things were pre-Obamacare? Or will they fall into the normal trap and see the problem as so large, so prolific, that the only way to salvage such an enormous challenge as the nations healthcare system is to ask for more of the same?

It’s part of the dependency nation mentality. People may openly criticize government and acknowledge the problems caused by the massive bureaucracy, but at the end of the day they still see the federal government as the only entity capable of solving immense problems for over 300 million people.

You know some of these people. They may be bloggers. They may vote the ‘right’ way. Go to church on Sunday. But how about behind closed doors? Will they check into Obamacare behind the scenes and see if they can save some money? After all, who would know? And make no mistake, because of the subsidies, there will be benefactors to Obamacare. If you can save you and your family some money at the expense of others and no one else will know, is it unreasonable to think that many will do so despite knowing they are contributing to the problem?

Regardless, that’s still a minimalist number of people. Most are just run-of-the-mill dependency types who see it as a way to get back at the system and improve their lot in life. Just look at the reaction to the EBT glitch in the Louisiana Wal-marts. Fact is, when opportunity presents itself, most will indulge the inclination for looking out for number one first. That’s just human nature.

Obamacare will be no different. The built-in collapse mechanism is by design so that the public will cry out for the Federal Government to fix it and that will be the opening that Obama has already foreseen as the opportunity to get to single-payer.

For those on the right who have illusions of seeing Obamacare self-implode and a return to our public-private healthcare system, you’ll be sadly disappointed to see yet another program of government largesse live on in perpetuity. Will it change? Of course. The laws have to change in order to get to single-payer. But to think it will go away due to bad press is folly.

If Obama seems detached and his usual above the fray of the Obamacare disaster, it’s not because he is in over his head. It’s not because he just doesn’t care. It’s because the trap has been laid and Americans are falling into just like lemmings (yes I know the lemmings thing is a myth, but you get the point) and he is just enjoying the ride of yet another agenda item on the bucket list getting checked off.

Wal-mart EBT glitch in Louisiana a reflection of the government debt limit debacle

The EBT glitch over the weekend at 2 Louisiana Wal-Mart stores is an excellent example of what will happen if the federal government debt limit is increased. Chaos, irresponsibility, greed are just a few descriptions of what happens when irrational people are put in charge of spending.

Obama likes to play his Clintonesque word games by stating that increasing the debt limit won’t cost a dime. As if our politicians won’t use the increased spending limit? Just another sound bite for the uninformed voter.

Wal-Mart is going to get hung with the bill for the SNAP disaster and they should. They didn’t follow established protocols for dealing with EBT glitches and upper management signed off on keeping the registers ringing away –

That’s the example of greed at work. Management thought they could score a massive sales binge at the expense of the taxpayer and probably they saw their bonuses expanding along with the sales. Sorry chumps, learn the rules.

Then there are the people. Like piranhas, a feeding frenzy was unleashed when the masses saw their opportunity to stick it to the man and take advantage of what they surely knew was wrong. For the slip and fall lawyers who are now frothing at the mouth, fraud won’t be easy as intent will be difficult to prove. The card functioned, the store accepted it. Unless they can provide documentation of SNAP recipients agreeing in advance to never exceed their spending limit, glitches are the responsibility of the provider.

At any rate, it’s what we’ll see when the GOP folds and passes the debt limit increase. Already spent, guaranteed. The politicians will be just like the Wal-Mart shoppers who got their spending limit increased. Even though they know it’s wrong and that the nation can’t afford it, they’ll spend it anyway. Count on more freebies for the entitlement generation to secure some more 2014 votes.

Wal-Mart could have avoided it all by following the rules but failed. Government could avoid sending us further over the debt cliff we’re barreling over but they won’t.

Wal-Mart will pass on the cost of the loss to the paying customers. Government will pass on the cost to paying taxpayers and future, unborn generations of Americans.

May you all rot just like the pumpkin on my porch.

U.S. taxpayers bailed out foreign owned Fiat/Chrysler – now investing in Mexico and creating jobs for Mexicans

AUBURN HILLS, MI- Chrysler Group LLC is investing about $1.25 billion in two facilities in Mexico.

Chrysler CEO and chairman Sergio Marchionne confirmed the amount Thursday at the dedication of Chrysler’s new Van Assembly Plant in Saltillo.

About $1.1 billion of the total investment was to construct the new plant, which started producing the Ram ProMaster van in July. The additional $164 million will add a new production line to assemble Tigershark engines at the Saltillo North Engine Plant.

You may recall that President Obama said we had no choice but to spend billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars to bail out the auto companies in the 2008/2009 bailouts. Subsequently, taxpayers lost billions in doing so. Since then, Chrysler has become majority owned by a foreign owned car company, Fiat. Spellchek covered that here.

Now, Chrysler is using its get-out-of-jail-free card to invest in Mexico and create jobs for Mexicans, not the U.S. taxpayers who saved their company. In fact, Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne would like to personally thank you for your act of kindness.

“All of this would not be possible without the extraordinary spirit of collaboration we have found in both the federal and state governments,” Marchionne said in a release. We feel privileged to have the opportunity to contribute to the future growth of Mexico.”

Now, to be fair, Marchionne was actually thanking the Mexican government and not the United States government and the taxpayers. But I’m sure he had us in his heart, don’t you think?

Of course, the lesson to be learned here is that these are multi-national, global corporations. When your President claims to be using your dime to save U.S. workers jobs, he’s not quite telling you the whole story. Foreign countries, workers and investors also benefit. That doesn’t sell so well on Main Street however when union bosses are mobilizing their troops across the country to save U.S. jobs.

If you’re OK with that, then great. Just don’t be misled into thinking that bailouts protect U.S. jobs. Instead, they protect the investments of these global corporations who, as in the case of Fiat, may be sending those profits overseas.
