Washington Redskins give in to pressure – change name

Good stuff via The Onion

WASHINGTON—Following an outpouring of criticism from across the country, the Washington Redskins announced Wednesday that they are officially changing the team’s name to the D.C. Redskins. “We’ve heard the concerns of many people who have been hurt or offended by the team’s previous name, and I’m happy to say we’ve now rectified the situation once and for all,” said franchise owner Dan Snyder, adding that “Washington Redskins” will be replaced with “D.C. Redskins” on all team logos, uniforms, and apparel. “It was a difficult decision—and one that, frankly, I’m a little embarrassed took me so long to make. So hopefully we can now put this issue to bed and start cheering on our D.C. Redskins.” In light of Snyder’s decision, Cleveland Indians owner Larry Dolan told reporters he will change the feather in Chief Wahoo’s headdress from red to a “more appropriate” shade of red.

Such a silly topic deserves a spot on the pages of The Onion.

Debt limit crisis? Not even close and this comparison makes it easy for anyone to understand

What will really happen if we don’t raise the debt ceiling on Oct. 17th? Will the sky really fall as the democrats, led by President Obama, claim will happen? Here’s a simple way to grasp what is happening. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew oversaw the release of this report.

“In the event that a debt limit impasse were to lead to a default, it could have a catastrophic effect on not just financial markets but also on job creation, consumer spending and economic growth — with many private-sector analysts believing that it would lead to events of the magnitude of late 2008 or worse, and the result then was a recession more severe than any seen since the Great Depression,” the report said.

When attempting to visualize the enormity of the federal budget of the United States, an easy way is to compare it to a typical household budget. You do this by simply lopping off 8 zeros from each budget number. See here for an example.

This Treasury report lays out the total receipts and outlays for FY2013 which just ended on Sept. 30, 2013. If the debt limit is not increased on Oct. 17th, it will not stop the influx of receipts to the U.S. government. In FY2013, the government took in $2,472,542 TRILLION dollars. This equates to $206,045 billion dollars per month taken in. Unfortunately, our spend-drunk politicans spent $3,227,888 TRILLION dollars, thus the need for the passage of the debt limit increase.

To visualize this as our household budget, simply remove 2 digits. This would our example household budget would have earned $24,725 dollars in FY2013. We would have spent $32,278 dollars. Thank goodness for credit cards, huh? Finally, we can see we would be earning an average of $2,060 per month.

So, our debt crisis would mean our credit card was suspended and we would have to pay our bills with the $2,060 we earn each month. We can extend this comparison further if we imagine what bills we would pay.

The alarmists are claiming we would default on our debt for the first time ever, damaging the full faith and credit of the United States. That would only happen if President Obama purposely directed his Treasury Secretary to not pay the debt interest and default on our bonds. I say only because clearly there is plenty of money available each month to pay the interest.

The debt interest paid for FY2013 was $395,826 billion dollars. That equates to $32,985 billion per month, or just $329 in our household example. As you can clearly see, we only default if the President makes a political decision to purposely do so as it isn’t necessary whatsoever.

In fact, we can nearly pay for three more vitally important categories with our monthly income despite having our credit card suspended. Defense, social security and Medicare/Medicaid. You can refer to the report yourself to see that Defense would cost us $466 dollars, social security would be $665 and the entire Department of Health and Human Services budget would be $694.

Total all 4 categories of debt interest, defense, social security and Medicare/Medicaid and you spend an average of $2,154 dollars. That’s $94 over budget each month in our household budget. We would have to cut out a few dollars, likely from defense, and we would still be able to operate our 4 most important expenditures of the federal government each month even without a debt limit increase.

When Obama and his minions pull out all the stops in the next ten days to warn of the never before seen doom and gloom awaiting the country if he doesn’t get his way, you can rest easy knowing he is full of it up to his ears.

Bigfoot DNA? Video evidence? Not so fast, we blew the cover off years ago

So there’s a group claiming they have DNA and video evidence of bigfoot.

Bigfoot is real, and there’s now both DNA and video evidence to prove it, claims one group of devoted Sasquatch researchers.

The group’s “never-before-seen footage” of an alleged Bigfoot creature sleeping in the woods of Kentucky has been presented this week along with various blood and hair samples said to be unlike anything seen before.

The group’s startling statements are supposedly backed by 11 outside laboratories and universities, which all reviewed the findings, and which were provided with blind samples, according to the report by the Sasquatch Genome Project.

“We want people to understand that this is a serious study,” Dr. Melba Ketchum, a genetics scientist, who led the project during the course of the five-year study, told CBS DFW.

We here at Spellchek don’t see what the big deal is. We were the first to provide undeniable evidence quite some time ago of just who was romping around in that costume.

The Sasquatch Genome Project is a serious study? Apparently, our POTUS agrees.

Obama Suggests $2 Billion In New Funding for Bigfoot Tracking

——————————————————————————–

Sen. Barack Obama has detailed a comprehensive plan that includes $2 billion in new funding to reinvigorate Bigfoot tracking and a promise to make Bigfoot tracking and science a significantly higher priority if he is elected president.

Campaigning in Florida yesterday, Sen. John McCain responded by telling business leaders that Obama has changed his position on some key questions of Bigfoot tracking funding in recent months and should not be trusted to support the program.

While Obama’s ambitious plan embraces President Bush’s 2004 “vision” to find Bigfoot by 2020 — a plan McCain co-sponsored in the Senate — the Democratic presidential candidate said the administration’s “poor planning and inadequate funding” have undermined the effort and jeopardized U.S. leadership in Bigfoot tracking.

“As president, I’ll make our Bigfoot tracking program a priority again by devoting the attention and resources needed to not only inspire the world with feats of Bigfoot tracking but also improve life,” Obama said.

His plan also calls for reestablishing the National Bigfoot Tracking Council to coordinate all civilian, commercial and military Bigfoot tracking programs; the body was in place in earlier decades but disbanded in 1992. As a signal that Bigfoot will be a higher priority for him, Obama said the council would report directly to the president.

McCain did not directly address Obama’s proposals, released on Sunday, but did emphasize that the Democrat had earlier opposed full funding for the Bigfoot tracking program. Obama’s position has shifted since last winter.

“Sometimes it is difficult to know what a politician will actually do once in office, because they say different things at different times to different people,” McCain said in a closed-door meeting of business leaders in Cocoa Beach. “This is a particular problem when a candidate has a short, thin record on the issues, as in the case of Senator Obama. Let me say, just in case Senator Obama does decide to return to his original plan of cutting Bigfoot tracking funding — I oppose such cuts.”

He also said: “I will ensure that Bigfoot tracking remains a top priority and that the U.S. continues to lead the world in this field.”

In a Democratic Party campaign call after McCain spoke, former Bigfoot tracking associate administrator Lori Garver said that while the Republican candidate now voices support for Bigfoot tracking, his voting record has been far less enthusiastic.

She said McCain spoke against a bill introduced last year that would give Bigfoot tracking $1 billion — money that would have gone specifically to speeding development of the Bigfoot tracking program.

“It’s very interesting to see McCain now paint himself as a strong supporter of Bigfoot tracking,” she said. “When he could have stepped up to support the program, he has not done that. He has no general respect for our community.”

Garver acknowledged that Obama’s positions on Bigfoot tracking have evolved since the primaries, but she said McCain’s Bigfoot tracking advocacy has changed as well.

Although McCain has said continued Bigfoot tracking superiority is essential, he has also said that as president he would freeze all discretionary spending — and Bigfoot tracking, with a budget of about $17.5 billion, is generally considered in that category. McCain has spoken in mostly general terms about Bigfoot tracking.

In an earlier interview, McCain campaign spokesman Taylor Griffin said the candidate firmly supports building a new generation of Bigfoot tracking and would fund the program as needed. He also said McCain would conduct “an overall review early in the administration of where Bigfoot tracking money is spent to determine an appropriate plan of action.”

Obama’s campaign said the additional Bigfoot tracking funds would be paid for by rolling back congressional earmarks to what they were in 1994, and by using the newly formed advisory council to potentially re-allocate Bigfoot tracking funding.

U.S. Bigfoot Tracking and the Russian Bigfoot agency have worked closely and generally well together in recent years, but many are concerned that Russian military actions in Georgia will change that relationship.

Children of America with cancer, Harry Reid wants you dead!

What an arrogant son-of-a-bitch! If Harry Reid isn’t the very face of evil, I don’t know what is.

If any of you citizens of Nevada that voted for this bastard have an ounce of decency left, you should renounce your citizenship and get the hell out of America and move to some other socialist utopia.

I could go on and on with how pathetic this is, but Reid simply isn’t worth the limited time I have on the planet.
