American workers would have to cough up a one-time “debt reduction fee” of $106,000 to pay off the nation’s debt that has grown 58 percent under President Obama, according to Harvard University’s Institute of Politics annual report on the USA.
What’s the best thing we could do with this knowledge? How about making sure our youth understand the magnitude of the problems confronting them? How about handing out a bill to each student graduating high school detailing their portion of the federal debt burden due to irresponsible government?
Do you think it may get their attention? Do you think it may inspire them to get educated about the severity of the problem and their responsibility to solve it?
We have an incredible amount of money spent on lobbying and political ads in this country. Perhaps some of it could be redirected to simply printing out some pamphlets to pass out at each and every graduation this year, and each year after, to insure our youth realize the problem is theirs like it or not and that they will be the ones to solve it.
If you like this idea, then spread the word.
